Glacier National Park
Located in Northwest Montana, Glacier National Park is absolutely a must see park, ranking up there with Yellowstone National Park. Glacier National Park can become part of any Montana vacation, with some of the best backpacking, fishing, camping hiking, and rafting in the Rockies. Known to the Native Americans as “Shining Mountains” and “Backbone of the World” Glacier covers about 1 million acres which is about 1600 square miles of beautiful mountain, enchanting lakes, and of course, amazing glaciers. Glaciers’ diversity is home to over 70 species of mammals and 260 species of birds that visit and live in Glacier. It has more than 700 miles of trail for hiking or horseback riding. Before visiting this amazing park there are many must read books, my favorite is “Night of the Grizzlies”, it’s a wonderfully scary, true story. There is so much to see and do in Glacier it could be a wise decision to consider a guided tour. There are many experienced guides that can show you the hidden treasures of Glacier National Park. Kalispell, MT and The Outlaw Hotel are just a hop, skip and a jump for Glacier National Park. 2010 is the Centennial of Glacier National Park, so come stay with us at The Outlaw Hotel on your way to Glacier National Park.
